Azazel makes the morale officer for a large company so effective that the employees become altogether too focused on raising morale and too little on doing their jobs.

Having but narrowly escaped employment (indirectly) under the aegis of the American personification of an Impersonal, Big, Money-making corporation which will go nameless, I have ample motivation for being kind-hearted towards this story—but I'm not. It just didn’t work for me; I'm sure I can’t say exactly why. Perhaps it’s just a little too over-the-top, or perhaps in my heart of hearts I don’t want to truly believe that there are people who feel “company first” is a genuine moral value to be nurtured. The result, however, is a story that just doesn’t quite make it.
